The Opportunity

This internship sits at the heart of ember's next phase of technology and product development.

As an AI Product Development Intern, you will translate real business workflows into product requirements, structured data, prototypes and practical AI-enabled solutions. You will work across ember's teams to understand how information, suppliers, client journeys and operational processes move through the business.

The role combines product thinking, data architecture, full-stack prototyping and applied AI. Depending on the project, you may explore AI capabilities, structure business data, prototype features, test solutions against real workflows or help define requirements for systems being developed by ember and its technology partners.

You may collaborate with external technology partners supporting ember's future digital platform and internal systems, helping bridge business needs, user feedback and technical delivery.

The ideal candidate is curious, practical and product-minded, with the ability to move from understanding a business problem to helping shape and test a working solution.

What You'll Do

Product Discovery & Development

Work with ember teams to understand operational challenges and translate them into clear product requirements, user flows, data models and potential technical solutions.

Contribute to prototypes, internal tools or individual product features that improve how teams work and how information moves across the business.

Data & Operational Intelligence

Help gather, clean and structure business data across stays, villas, yachts, jets, private experiences, suppliers and client journeys.

Explore categorisation, duplicate detection, missing-information alerts, engagement history, client usage and supplier feedback to make information more useful and reliable.

Applied AI & Recommendation Systems

Explore practical applications of AI that could improve internal workflows, knowledge retrieval, supplier discovery, recommendations and decision-making.

Prototype and evaluate AI-enabled features using real business use cases and structured data, while clearly communicating how each solution works and where its limitations sit.

Testing, Collaboration & Handover

Test technology against real workflows and historical scenarios with travel, operations and other ember teams.

Gather feedback, identify usability or functional gaps, and where relevant support collaboration with external technology partners through clear requirements, data structures, API notes, test cases and documentation.

Who You Are

You are a BS/MS student in Computer Science, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related field, with a strong interest in building technology that solves real operational problems.

You are comfortable moving between user needs, data, technical implementation and product thinking.

You take ownership of your work and can make steady progress within a focused internship scope. You ask the right questions, test assumptions and are comfortable working with incomplete or unstructured business data.

You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues. You can explain how a feature works, why a technical choice was made and what limitations or considerations the team should understand.

You care about usability, privacy and maintainability. You understand that successful technology is not simply a working model or prototype, but a solution that fits real business workflows and can continue evolving over time.

What You’ll Need

Essential:

Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science, Applied AI, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related field

Hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript, databases and API development

Ability to contribute to full-stack product development and structured data solutions

Practical understanding of AI models, recommendation systems or language-model applications

Experience using Git and working through a structured development process

Strong communication, documentation and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

Experience building and deploying a web application, prototype or internal tool

Exposure to cloud platforms, data pipelines, AI APIs or external system integrations

The Details

Location: Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi
Hybrid, with some in-person time

Contract Type: Internship
Part-time during the academic term / full-time during Summer 2027

Academic Term: Up to 10 hours per week, with duration and schedule agreed based on university requirements and availability

Summer 2027: Full-time internship, with duration to be agreed based on university requirements and candidate availability

Start Date: To be agreed
