Caregiver / Home Care Aide
Percipience Home Care is hiring dependable, compassionate caregivers to provide non-medical support to clients throughout Sangamon County. You will help with daily activities while respecting each client's preferences, dignity and independence.
This position involves working with multiple clients during the week. You will not necessarily be assigned exclusively to one client, and some schedules may include visits to more than one client in a day. You must be comfortable working in different homes and traveling between assigned locations.
Responsibilities- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and other personal care tasks outlined in each client's care plan.
- Provide companionship through conversation and activities the client enjoys.
- Help with meal preparation, light housekeeping and laundry.
- Support mobility and daily routines within your training and assigned responsibilities.
- Provide medication reminders as directed in the care plan.
- Complete visit documentation accurately and promptly.
- Report changes in a client's needs or condition to the agency.
- Follow agency procedures and maintain client confidentiality.
- Dependability, punctuality and clear communication.
- Patience, compassion and respect for clients from different backgrounds.
- Ability to follow individualized care plans and document services provided.
- Reliable transportation to assigned client homes.
- Willingness to work with multiple clients throughout the week.
- Willingness to complete required screening, onboarding and training.
- Previous caregiving or relevant personal care experience is preferred.
Car ownership or consistent access to a personal vehicle is preferred because this role involves traveling to different client homes. Applicants with another dependable transportation arrangement are welcome to apply if they can reliably reach each assigned visit on time.
Assignments involving driving clients or running errands by car require a valid driver's license, appropriate insurance and agency approval.
