Physical Therapy Technician

Full Job Description

3D Physical Therapy is a privately-owned, outpatient clinic with locations in the Uptown/Turtle Creek and Preston Center areas of Dallas. We are looking for an experienced PT Tech to assist in the provision of patient care and related activities under the direct, on-site supervision, of a physical therapist. Ideally, candidates will have experience in a healthcare setting, preferably an orthopedic setting. Preferably, candidates will have taken anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, biology, and psychology coursework.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Assist the PT with patient care and related activities following formal on-the-job training and competency testing.

Assist the PT with patient data intake and support documentation.

Report all treatment procedures performed as delegated under direct supervision of the PTs.

Assist with and/or carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of the clinic and patient care equipment in accordance with regulatory standards and 3DPT’s policies and procedures. Cross-train and support front and back-office operations when necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have an interest in pursuing a career in Physical or Occupational Therapy or a related healthcare profession

Demonstrate the ability to perform the duties required of the position

Meet the physical demand level of the position

EDUCATION:

Associate or Bachelor degree with coursework noted above

EXPERIENCE:

Previous health delivery experience, observation, or volunteer hours, desirable

PHYSICAL DEMAND CAPACITY:

Requires the general strength and endurance as follows:

Lifting-routinely loads of 5-50 pounds from Floor to waist

Waist to shoulder

Shoulder to overhead

Carrying—routinely loads of 5-10# for 40-50#

Pushing-routinely loads of 5-150# on casters, runners or pulleys

Sustaining a grip-routinely for 1-2 minutes of 40-50#

Guarding a “lift load” routinely of 120-140#
